Why Materials Matter

Nebraska Instructional Materials and Professional Learning Innovation Network Fellowship

In October 2019, the Nebraska Instructional Materials Collaborative, in partnership with Teaching Lab, launched Phase I of the Instructional Materials and Professional Learning Innovation Network Fellowship. District and ESU leaders from across the state convened throughout the year as they navigated the selection, adoption, and implementation of high-quality instructional materials. The fellowship was designed to support teaching and professional learning that is centered on equity, the effective use of materials, and the vision for instructional excellence. In this video, participants describe how the fellowship has supported their commitment to providing all Nebraska students access to high-quality, standards-aligned materials. Phase II of the fellowship began in the Fall of 2020. For more information, please contact [email protected].

Impact of the IMPD Network Case Study

Every student, every day needs to be engaged in meaningful, affirming, grade-level instruction.  To realize this vision research suggests that high quality, standards-aligned curricula and professional learning based on those curricula are crucial. The Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) developed this video to tell the story of the IMPD Network and highlight the success of states over the years. The content is meant to illuminate the “Impact of the IMPD Network Case Study” which CCSSO recently released.
